The Bev Reed Award

Each year, FBS awards one MLS Staff Member with an expenses-paid trip to the annual FBS Summit as the recipient of the Bev Reed Award. The Bev Reed Award recipient will be someone who exemplifies MLS leadership and partnership with FBS through actions, communication and participation for the improvement of the Flexmls Platform, the MLS and its members/subscribers.

Eligibility and Criteria:


  • Must be a current FBS customer of the Flexmls Platform at the time of the Summit

  • Geographic or financial considerations will have precedence

  • Interfaces with subscribers/members as primary part of the position

  • Has a broader understanding and/or participation in broader industry issues and implications with/within their MLS; could benefit from deeper understanding that occurs at Summit so they can better support their membership with relevant and timely information

  • Shouldn’t be EO or CEO unless that person wears multiple hats

  • If not responsible for the Flexmls System (training or administration), that’s fine. The Summit provides an opportunity to learn the system more deeply, opening opportunities for participation and having a voice with the FBS team while bringing back more, deeper information to members/subscribers and MLS Staff

  • Someone who could really benefit (and subsequently add MORE value to their MLS and subscriber/members) from deeper understanding that comes from Summit

  • Empowers those around them to be successful through a solutions focus with openness and flexibility to the journey

  • Undaunted by change. Has both courage and constitution to work with and through change. Has empathy and communication to guide others while still remaining committed to implementing the change

  • People-first approach; caring, a thoughtful approach

  • Curious, a learner, open and willing to take on insight and knowledge from others.

  • Will speak up and challenge the status quo

  • Must be willing to sit in the front row at Summit
