Steve Gillmor wrote the following in a post on TechCrunch a few days ago:

Standards are what happens while we’re busy making other plans. They emerge from the rubble of innovation, not as the result of freedom-loving patriots who are trying to catch up with those who acted first. Sounds harsh, but Darwin doesn’t wait around for stragglers. Sometimes we need the winners of the world to do whatever it takes to get us to swallow our medicine.

This statement applies in spades to the MLS industry right now and is good advice to the newly elected directors of RESO.
